In a few short days we went from this:

Early prototype gameplay.

To this:

Early development gameplay.

While many features and mechanics are yet to come, it is important to to notice that the current iteration of the game is actually playable. By that I mean it is entertaining, if a bit simple.

So far, the game features a controllable player whom is tasked with destroying as many enemy fighter ships as possible before being overwhelmed. Spacing is critical for the avoiding the incoming enemy ship, as is managing the fire rate of the player; every shot must count!

Videogames go through a variety of development cycles and stages from the prototype all the way to post production. In the following days, I will be adding more and more to this baseline to fill in features and create an engaging arcade shooter!
